ACT & SAT
At Hartfield Academy, we provide our students with the opportunity to prepare for the ACT by attending workshops on campus. The formal ACT test will follow at a later date.
Preparing for the SAT is also provided on campus with the administration of the PSAT to all tenth and eleventh students.

ACT Test Prep Course
Instructor: Leonard Blanton
Date: Saturday, December 3 (1 class mtg.)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
This test prep course is a fast-paced presentation of test-taking strategies designed to help college
bound students to test nearer to their ability levels on reasoning tests such as ACT, SAT, etc. The
course will assist students in identifying and addressing obstacles to optimum performance,
including starting too late, no or incorrect information about the test, fear, fatigue, perfectionism,
and/or lack of experience at solving counterintuitive problems. This common sense approach to
improving scores includes subject matter connection, time management tips, and ways to build
confidence. Students will be allowed two 15 minute breaks and an hour for lunch.
Please note: This course will NOT be a review of subject matter per se.

RCSD ACT Workshop
When: December 5, 6, and 8, 2016 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Where: Northwest Rankin High School Media Center, 5805 Highway 25 N, Flowood, MS
Cost: $25.00 per session (cash) for Rankin County students, 60.00 cash for all three nights if
paid on the first night.
Registration: Pre-registration is required to ensure your spot. Email Montgomery Hinton at

FAFSA DAY: Get to College will visit our campus and work with both students and parents to prepare their FAFSA together.
Naviance is a tool used by students, parents and school counselors to prepare their career paths more effectively.
