Hartfield Family and Friends,
I can hardly believe it is already December! Before we know it we will be on Christmas break and then ringing in a New Year. In the hustle of it all, I know it can be so easy for each of us to get caught up in the season. Performances and parties to attend, a tree to decorate, and gifts to buy. There are a lot of demands that come with the most joyous season of them all- which is why it can be hard to make a giving ask this time of year.
To be honest, as I have thought over this letter, I feared it would come off as just one more thing to add to your already heavy list. It is my hope that you will take the time to read this and really consider what God is doing at Hartfield.
The Hartfield family is such a special community. I am blessed to see it every day- the days when we get it right and the days when we could have done things better. I regularly see our teachers display and explain grace to our children. I have seen students encourage and support each other, and even their teachers, through difficult times in the past year. I see parents spending hours serving our school preparing for events like Hartfield Family Christmas. Everywhere I look, I see an active community.
Hartfield has grown to over 850 students now, made up of 685 families. Each of you give your time, energy, ideas, and finances to make this a special place. I was encouraged by a 100% participation rate of giving from our Board, and over 95% from our faculty, and staff this past year. But did you know that of the remaining members of our Hartfield community less than 10% have chosen to give and be a part of our growth this year? To say I am thankful to each of those that have given is really an understatement. God has used each giver in a special way and I hope you will take pride in the progress of the building and the students that will fill those spaces. This project has certainly increased my faith and stirred me to watch for each and every way God has provided for our new facilities. Even though less than 10% of our parents have been a part, 73% of the total project is funded. To put it simply, it has been entirely a God thing!
Which brings me to where each of you knew I was headed. Will you join me in asking the Lord to provide the balance for this project? Will you expect with me that since He called us to this project He will bring exactly the people needed to complete it? Our capital campaign goal was $6M and we have raised $4.3M to this point, an astounding number for a school of our age and size. Our active solicitation for the Undeniably Different campaign came to a close this fall, but because it is year-end, I want to make another invitation to be a part. I think we all know that this isn’t just a building expansion, this is Kingdom expansion and we are believing that God will faithfully provide.
Thank you for the privilege of being a part of this Hartfield family. I’m blessed daily by the students, teachers, and parents that I get to share this journey with. If you would like to give a gift to Hartfield, please click here.
