Fine Arts

Exposure to the Fine Arts is key for a student’s development, which is why our art programs are expanding every year. At Hartfield, we know exploring the arts opens up new opportunities for our students, but more importantly, we know that the creative expression of our students models the creativity of our Creator Savior.  We seek to teach students a posture of worship in the gifts given to them by exploring through creating, performing, exploring, and storytelling. 

In Elementary school, students begin to learn the fundamentals of music and art. Our dedicated art teachers focus on drawing, sculpture, and painting techniques. Students learn balance, shape, color, and rhythm all while having fun and expressing their own creativity through each piece. Elementary music expands the student’s exposure to preparation and performance. Students learn pitch, notation, and information about instruments. 

Our Middle School Fine Arts program prepares Students for the opportunities they will have in High School.  All 6th-grade students attend an Introduction to Fine Arts class, which is a hands-on study of acting, instrumental music, vocal music, media arts, and stage production and attempts to help students discover and nurture their talents in the Arts.  

In High School, students are fully prepared to dive deeper into the fine art that interests them the most. Beginning in 8th grade, students can choose from a variety of fine arts classes and are encouraged to pursue that interest throughout their High School career. Classes include  Visual Production, Theater, Yearbook, Creative Art, Music Theory and Music Appreciation.
