Hartfield Academy's K5 Class Creates 'Deeply Rooted' Project, Teaching Students About Salvation in Jesus

The project focused on the concept of being deeply rooted in love, as described in Ephesians 3:17, which emphasizes the importance of being grounded in love to live a life that reflects patience, kindness, and a desire to get along with others. Each Kindergarten class took this message to heart as they planted seeds and observed the miracle of growth throughout each day.

The students learned that just as a tiny seed has the potential to grow into a beautiful flower, they too have the potential to grow in Christ. The teachers connected this idea to the creation story in Genesis, explaining that on the third day, God made the flowers and all of nature, reminding the students that God is the source of all life.

Continuing the lesson, the students crafted sunflowers with the verse from Ephesians 3:17. The objective was to help them understand that, just like a seed needs soil, sunlight, and water to grow, they need the support of the church, the truth of God's Word, and the life-giving presence of Jesus, the living water, to grow in their faith.

The project illustrated the journey of faith, with the sunflowers serving as a visual representation of how a life rooted in Jesus can grow and blossom. Through this simple lesson, K5 students not only learned about the world but also gained a deeper understanding of salvation and the love of Christ!
