Kicking Off the School Year with Class Retreats

This August, Hartfield Academy students participated in their yearly retreats designed to offer students the opportunity to grow spiritually, develop leadership, and connect with classmates. Each grade spends time being challenged physically and spiritually in a fun way that teaches them how to lead and work together.
Senior Retreat
The senior class embarked on a memorable three-night retreat to Ocoee, Tennessee. The retreat featured white-water rafting, adventure races, games, and other activities, but the highlight was the time seniors spent together in prayer and reflection. Each night, the seniors gathered for lessons and prayer, growing closer as a group. A special moment came during the night of senior letters where students received heartfelt messages from loved ones, celebrating their unique gifts and the exciting year ahead. The retreat provided a meaningful start to their final year, preparing them to spiritually lead themselves, their peers, and the school. As the retreat kicked off the first of many lasts, the Class of 2024 used this special opportunity to lean into what the Lord has for their lives. They left with encouragement to seek the Lord in all things, especially with their last year of high school.

Sophomore Retreat
The sophomore class enjoyed a one-night getaway at Timber Creek, where they canoed, played pickleball, and bonded as a class. Similar to the senior retreat, the sophomores participated in nightly lessons that offered opportunities for prayer and connection. The retreat left students feeling grateful and excited for the year ahead, knowing they have a supportive and united class to journey with.

5th Grade Retreat
The 5th grade class experienced their first retreat as part of the Hartfield 56 program. They spent the day off-campus at Pinelake Church, where they played games, worshiped, and enjoyed time together. The retreat was an exciting introduction to the upper school experience, setting a positive tone for their 5th grade year at Hartfield.

These retreats exemplify Hartfield Academy's commitment to nurturing students' spiritual, personal, and leadership growth. The time spent together not only helped students grow individually but also strengthened each class, making these retreats a cherished tradition.
