ALASKA:

While in Alaska, we were able to see the true wonders of God's glory and creation. From the beautiful landscape, to the fluffy snow, to the mountains and glaciers, to the Northern Lights, we were all truly in awe!

We were also able to minister to the children of Delta Junction, Alaska and help lead a day camp for children ages pre-k through junior high. We were able to be the hands and feet of Jesus by playing games with them, leading them in worship, teaching them about missionaries, performing arts and crafts, and leading them in Bible lessons.

Other than the connections that students made with the children of Alaska, they were also able to connect on a deeper level with each other. It was truly incredible to watch them put aside their worries and outside interruptions, and see them walk in their God-given purpose.

HOUSTON:

This year we took 25 9th, 10th and 11th graders and 6 leaders to Houston, TX. We worked with Glocal Missions to share with many different groups and the team also learned much about their own faith and beliefs while we were there.

Our days consisted of distributing care packages and praying with the homeless and daily workers. We spent time meeting and interacting and playing with kids in a park. One morning we spent time at an assisted living home where we sang songs and some of the guys even led a big game of bingo with some of the residents. The Glocal Mission Headquarters is close to a large apartment complex so we were able to play basketball, 4 Square, and other games with the kids that would come over in the afternoons after school was out.  On Saturday we were able to help one of Glocal's bi-lingual Hispanic church plants setup, decorate, and participate in their 11th Anniversary celebration. To close out the week, we went on a Religious Center Tour which was very insightful and eye-opening to our students.

No matter where we were, our motto for the week (which is the motto of Glocal Missions) that we would share everywhere we went was"Jesus Loves You!" It is a very simple but profoundly true statement that reaches into so many aspects of service.
