Congratulations to our Clarion-Ledger nominees for the Mississippi High School Sports Awards!

Hartfield Academy is represented throughout three athletic programs when it comes to the athlete of the year in volleyball, swim and cross country. Because of their nomination, they each will be given the opportunity to be a part of the Mississippi High School Sports Awards show which is the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. We are incredibly proud of each player for their determination and sportsmanship this year.
Representing Hartfield in volleyball for the Mississippi High School Sports Awards is senior, Addie McNeely. Addie has proved herself to be a talented and hard-working athlete. This year, she claimed the single-season kill record as well as the career ace record. Congratulations Addie!

Representing Hartfield in swimming for the Mississippi High School Sports Awards is 8th grader, Lily Sammons. Lily holds 6 individual Mississippi Swimming State records and one MS swimming relay record. She was named Mississippi Swimming's female swimmer of the year for her age group four times and was selected to be a part of the 2020 All-State girls swim team after an incredible season. Lily holds 5 MAIS state records and at this year's MAIS meet she came in first in both of her events (200 IM and 500 freestyle). We are excited to see her continue her athletic journey at Hartfield and flourish!

Representing Hartfield in cross country for the Mississippi High School Sports Awards is 8th grader, Ella Rankin. Ella secured the State Champion title in this year's MAIS AAAAAA Cross Country State Championship. Ending an impressive finish to an incredible season, this athlete certainly represents what Hartfield Athletics has to offer.

These nominees will be honored, along with the top three finalists and the player of the year at the Mississippi High School Sports Awards show in the spring. Stay tuned for more updates on our athletes!
