Hartfield Coaches Retreat 2022

What makes Hartfield athletics unique? One word comes to mind - Intentionality, meaning the fact of being deliberate or purposive. At Hartfield, our vision is to see every student fulfill their God-given purpose. This includes being intentional in the ways we coach, teach, and spiritually develop our students.
Over the summer, our athletic staff spent a weekend in Lawrence, MS at Tanglewood Camp and Retreat Center. The purpose of this coaches' retreat was to be intentional with our coaches over a two-day period with limited distractions in an effort to build relationships and enhance spiritual growth.

Hartfield's athletic staff includes 20 full-time coaches and 10 part-time/volunteer coaches. Having extended time together allowed for implementing a successful plan for the new school year, discussing ways to implement our school mission and vision into each athletic team, as well as spiritual goals. David Sykes, Hartfield's Athletic Director, shared that one of the most important topics discussed included goals for personal spiritual growth as well as spiritual goals for their specific athletic team. Our coaches want to see each other succeed - whether that be on or off the playing field.

We understand that our coaches play an influential role in the life of our students. That is why weekends like this are so important! Please enjoy a recap video of Hartfield's athletic staff retreat on Hartfield social platforms.
